James and the entire team at The Witchery are thrilled to unveil The Witchery Shop. Located adjacent to The Witchery’s famous dining rooms, in a historic building that also houses our unique and enchanting suites, the shop is a celebration of heritage, elegance, and sustainability.

“Some of my earliest memories are of helping out in my grandfather’s grocery shop, and it was there that my dream of owning a shop began. To now bring that vision to life at The Witchery feels like the perfect next step. This shop not only extends our guests’ experience beyond the dining room and suites but also allows them to take home a small piece of what makes The Witchery so unique.”

The Witchery Shop has been thoughtfully designed using spectacular French antique parcel-gilt oak panelling that once graced the dining room of a French château. This exquisite woodwork has now been meticulously crafted to fit its new home by a team of skilled local carpenters. The creative repurposing not only lends the shop a sense of timelessness—as if it’s been part of the building for centuries—but also aligns with our commitment to sustainability through the reuse and recycling of materials wherever possible. Complemented by antique furniture and period lighting, the interiors exude a rich, welcoming opulence that mirrors the atmosphere of The Witchery’s iconic restaurants and suites.

The Witchery has always been more than just exceptional dining and accommodation—it’s a testament to James’s passion for creating unforgettable experiences by sympathetically transforming historic spaces and giving them new life. The Witchery Shop continues this tradition, offering a curated collection of some of James’s favourite items, featuring exquisite creations from Scotland’s finest designers and artisans.

Just as we support local growers, butchers, fishermen and foragers to create the finest dishes served in our restaurant, the shop showcases the very best of Scotland’s craftsmanship, creative talent and traditional skills. Here, guests can find unique mementos and bespoke products that reflect the distinctive style and elegance of The Witchery such as cashmere made with only the finest yarns right here in Scotland and leather luggage crafted by skilled hands in Edinburgh’s Old Town. The Witchery’s own blend of tea, Champagne, whisky and decadent chocolates also adorn the shelves and are available to purchase.

But the shop holds a secret! Hidden away, waiting to be discovered, is a magical room—a private sanctuary lined in tartan and adorned with stag antlers. This secluded space is a nod to The Witchery’s spirit of intrigue and surprise, and the perfect setting for sharing stories, sampling rare whiskies, and partaking in exclusive tastings.
